My Words, Pain, & Story

My Words, Pain, & Story

A Poem by Anaya

Feel my story
Through my words.
As one whose often seen,
But not respected enough
To be heard.
Feel my pain
Rewoven into script.
As a strong being
Losing all of her grit.
Read my truth.
Hear my lies.
Claw at my mask,
To see my broken eyes.
Then figure out
Which part of me
Is in disguise.

Wow this was an incredible piece of poetry. I can almost identify with these words. Or perhaps I do but just don't want to say. Instead keeping the mask on a little longer. Thank you for sharing your poem.
