Frame of Mind

Frame of Mind

A Poem by Anaya
"

I feel the need to briefly explain this piece just because it is so dearly to my transformation as a being right now. I came upon the first two lines while literally staring at my reflection through t

"
Looking at the world,
Through my,
Reflections eyes.
I've come to
The conclusion,
That I will not let you,
Be my demise.
As I grow stronger,
I can feel the desquamation,
Of my decaying disguise.
As I rebuild,
You will see my true self,
Slowly but surely arise.
I've learned that,
Holding onto the pain,
Is foolishly unwise.
But when I went to you,
Just for help,
All you did was chastise.
So I dealt with my pain,
How I could,
I was the one wiping all my cries.
I was the one that fought for myself,
Even when half of me,
Filled my head with self-implicated situations,
Where I die.
But i'm back,
Strong as ever,
No longer craving your advice.
For I have a new perspective,
I'm seeing the world,
Through my reflections eyes.

This wonderful poem speaks of the resilience of the human heart. It's where we find our internal strength to rise above the heartbreak we suffer. And it is there where we say...no more, I won't give you power over me. Thank you, Anaya, for sharing your poem.
