"Moonshadows..."

"Moonshadows..."

A Poem by Chris
"

...echoes of yesterday

"

"Moonshadows..."

...echoes of yesterday...

There are times I feel your fingertips
grazing my cheek...
and your lips are just right THERE

and mine move to find and mold to yours...
and I can feel your arms around me
and squeezing so tight...
and then for whatever reason
I become aware of where and when I am
and wish so hard - I hadn't.

Yes indeed!
I'd like to know the reason you become aware of where and when you are. I'd also like to no why you wish you hadn't. Then again it makes me guess, so perhaps I can do without the latter. The former I think would strengthen the piece.

Thanks for sharing.

As am I my Friend! :-)
i love the joy and sadness this poem possesses, that feeling of someone right there then the longing that they are not. I love how a memory like that can feel so real. This poem made me smile and at the same time sad, I really enjoyed it.

Nice one.
carefully constructed poem - a light and charming picture of a tender moment - then the harsh reality of real life. You captured it well - not over the top with sentiment with made it more powerful somehow.

Sometimes we smile, when we realize what WE had .. and other times .. .. ..
