"...T'was Just A Country Lane..."

"...T'was Just A Country Lane..."

A Poem by Chris

I'm watching an airplane pass overhead... and daydreaming with the blinking of its lights. Damn, just how silly can a person be to wish so very hard on little 'twinklings' that have no powers to do more than give - more - "nothings" in our lives.

...Comes a time when you haven't even stars for your wishes to dream upon...

"...T'was Just A Country Lane..."

...i know...

i wish... too much

too often

  too long

too hard

     ...too deeply

...and I DO know it.

But it's what I CAN do

...ALL I can do.

It's my heart - ya know?

Chris

Later perhaps, You might find some starlight inside waiting to come out?  It's what we do - release starlight...

no matter what we accomplish in our lives...no matter what we can see, what we can grab?

wishing isn't necessarily what makes things so...but wishing can give us hope...

nicely done...i like the paragraph to start this...and then the way the poem moves into more of a poetic form...and all the indentions etc.

felt this one...i know from years and years of wishes.

Wishes, hopes, dreams.. They are what make dreary days pass.. The thought of something more. To reach.. To touch it..

This was lovely in it's emotion and feeling. Ever so graceful, Chris. :)

oh Chris ! So much I read...I remember you gave me kind words upon a work..I will never forget your kindness..and this piece reminds me of that fragile place you know...not silly at all...we grasp hope where ever we can see it...your right it is what we do...and your heart is so sweet...thank you for sharing it with us !

Hi, nice of you to pause.
You can catch a falling star put it in your pocket and save it for a rainy day...as the old
song once said. Enjoyed your sweet words dear Chris...SyberRose

sometimes you just need a hand to hold onto ...not tightly, just there in yours.

~ so true... beautifully said... :)
I like the "sandwich" of thought here. I really felt like you wre just musing through the day as you sauntered down a familiar path.
I will read more.

you are ever welcome... pause when and where you like.
Wishing on stars isn't bad at first but realizing that it won't work is taking one step forward to different things.

I haven't seen the stars in a long time. They were always there in abundance when I was young. Where did they go? I guess airplane lights are a good substitute if you're in a rush. In any case, this is a really good poem. Nice one Chris.
