"Foolish Moths..."

"Foolish Moths..."

A Poem by Chris
"

"

I was visiting Ed Hart's pages today... His "Fire" -

http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/edhart7/1155531/

led to my thoughts flowing into this:

"Foolish Moths..."

It's Spring

and mirrors lie

and eyes still see

    and the mind ...understands

Fingertips waver and sway

     remembering

     wishing, wanting to seek

...wanting to be...

alive -- burned -- to feel Heart's FIRE

flowing each ...tip

dancing in the springtide

- days and satinsilk nights.

Heat

- and the frantic whispers --

drawing each close and closer still

the turnings, flowings

beings - becomings

     touch and so touched...

Wanted ...wanting ...

wished ...wishing...

...so missed.

Light reflects so softly

from faces watching their stars

     watching the clouds floating away

     watching the waves thunder ashore

watching hands just begging to be given a Rose...

     watching eyes slowly filling

     watching everyone passing by...

breathing the fragrance of each breaths' pause

tasting the essence of a smile

gazing within then through every perception

...and quietly letting go.

I wonder if my wings would have been...

Chris.

Moths do venture near the light. A great analogy, yet somehow sad...

I can see how "Fire" led to this poem...it's like the same poem from a different perspective...and a lot of your own unique poetic touch.

In simply reading the title it made me think of the song "Moth" by moe. I don't know if you dig the jam band thing or not, but you should at least look up the words to "moth" it's a great song and I think you'd get it. anyway.... onto your poem...

It's a wonderful dancing poem that seems like life itself. I enjoy the choices that you made in this, the repetition and the ending. Many would not have had the restraint to end it where you needed to and you did.

great work!

Exquisite flow of thoughts Chris, with imagery that stirs the spirit. My own thoughts flow upon reading this, through past days and in & out of years.

I wonder what letting go, feels like
I wonder if fire is worth dying for
I wonder if anyone else wonders
How it will feel to finally fly ..

I like the way you find life, anywhere ...

It is better to make a mistake then live with regret... this life will burn us many times over but it will also bring us many cool moments.

Excellent poem.
