"What Am I Dreaming Of These Days?..."

"What Am I Dreaming Of These Days?..."

A Poem by Chris
"

"For once - close your eyes and just ...listen..." - sigh

"
"For once - close your eyes and just ...listen..." - sigh

"What Am I Dreaming Of These Days? …"

Moi? …dreaming of spending rainy days

on the porch with a coffee in my hand and

reminiscing …with you… of course.

Chuckling here…

I tease of many …moments -

of pauses …and instants… and wish-they-weres -

and fantastical breaths …mythical nows,

dream-full thens -

though-they-were-are-and-most-likely-will-never-be's.

Moments of reaching, finding, touching - within,

where it ALWAYS matters most and ever will.

Moments shared - thoughts entwined like souls' breaths

rapt as a Gordian Knot of treasured mights…

no longer parted out to separate ways …lost days

and nights.

The mind doesn't age,

ask any mirror -

we just become who we are

…’til we aren't anymore…

while the world moves in its grandeur and ways.

We ask too much

behind our eyes

as with each cooling sip

the sun …passes…

away.

Chris

You have a talent for being relaxed yet so profound...I have to read each piece again and again to uncover treasures and secret messages...there is so much below the surface. "We ask too much behind our eyes as with each cooling sip the sun ...passes ...away." Too quickly, my friend.

Life as we live it..is seldom as we wished it... and yet we dream.
I see you entered your inimitable self in this along with your carefree moments not without coffee as you entertain yourself and others with thoughtful hopefully heartfelt conversations on stages of life. To a life lived well

Congrats on making it so far! Think ahead but leave room for "life happens".

Too often this maybe the case
"The mind doesn't age,

…’til we aren't anymore…"- I adore this section. It reminds me a tiny bit of my own thoughts this week, "I'm a survivor...until I'm not." P.S., I haven't been on in several years, but it's a joy to read your writing after all these years.

Glad to hear there are still good writers and poets about. Good to hear from you.
Wow! You read my mind in so many ways........ you are so eloquent thank you. If only the mind's reflection could be captured automatically for all to see. So much is missed in the corners of our mind. The eye needs to travel and put to pen the beauty that is missed. I've always said that today's medications stifle one's genius. The mind needs to run wild and free, if only it could!

THAT touched the most.

Hurts to remember the facts in a straight line
In dreams, we add to and take away .. and set wishes afloat..
and feel hugs..and hear "I love you" .. .. and and ............................

Dreams are the place of innocence, realities more real than the now. A place where everything is possible. Un-denied love, shared love and the most poignant...what if love
If we live only to dream
are we missing the delightful strands of the maybes, the what might be and what could be?
Or without the dreams and all of the maybes, are we forced to live in real time? To bear the pain
feel the joy and long for more...
Longing....
it is the tie that binds and frees...

It's nice to read your poetry again
