"Few CAN 'Afford' The Price Paid..."

"Few CAN 'Afford' The Price Paid..."

A Poem by Chris
"

I visited – Free Thinker, “Love Bombs” And understood.

"

I visited " Free Thinker, “Love Bombs”

And understood.

Seems we all leave "Kansas" …says The Wizard of OZ.

Life as we live it - seldom as we wanted it.

Behind my eyes the thoughts continued:

“Few CAN "afford" the price paid…” *

We dream,

we try,

we reach…

seems most times we "settle" -

for companionship,

for status,

for a lifestyle,

for perceived stability,

or even just because we felt …noticed for once.

or

Everything is perfect …except… for -

that one main thing

we WILL change about the other.

And we either DO change that "it"

or find we can't -

and the anger,

frustration,

and resentment …appear.

And sometimes it's just

…that new …ages,

complacency begins,

words slip in - oft forgiven, seldom forgotten.

We forget how to dance in the rain -

spring turns to summer

to fall,

to winter

and the fireplace's ashes

…await the bucket.

This is why I never completely gave up being The Drifter. In one sense, he keeps me grounded. In another, he Stokes the fires of my passion. His world is practical and magical all at the same time.
An amazing job with this balled up tangle if emotions. You have managed to put them into concrete form. Well done.

Dense forest of emotions! I'm reading this again and again where every word digs a familiar sentiment. Chris, your words have always a diffent way. After a long (so long..), I am here but as usual, everything seems so indifferent.

Too few really ever open their eyes and their hearts to what is waiting for them. It takes courage
