"Pleas..."

"Pleas..."

A Poem by Chris
"

Memories in a now late afternoon...

"

Memories in a now late afternoon…

"Pleas..."

I was three

Daddy Jack left

me

standing at the closed gate

watching the world

…my world…

End…

as it always has -

again

and again

and again.

An eclipse to any child's light. Unfathomable in many ways. Life has a way of rebirthing us every so often, albeit painfully yet the sun still rises in-between, allowing a pause and some warmth to thaw the cold sadness of memories...

Gee
Once into adulthood and a father myself I promised, inwardly, that I would be the father to my daughter that I would have wished my own had been to me had he not buggered off.
Good afternoon

Life as we live it is not always as we want it...
Powerful words. An abandoned child would forever miss that father. I felt that child's pain grow with the years here. Children need loving parents to nurture them.

Has the sound of abandonment at an early age. Such an experience can cause the subconscious expectation of a repetition, which often occurs.

Memories from our youth do have such a powerful resonance to them that they linger forever in our mind. Especially those that are very traumatic. This piece illustrated such a powerfully sad moment. Thank you Chris for sharing your poem with us.
