"Tap, Tap-Tap..."

"Tap, Tap-Tap..."

A Story by Chris
"

Its all in the ... beat-ing.

"

"Tap, Tap-Tap..."

Tap, tap-tap, tap, tap-tap...
Rod Serling's Twilight Zone
wasn't so out of place
- just time...

Tap, tap-tap, tap, tap-tap...
even the cars stay away
cobwebbed streets - minds - lives
the Cavalry came
...and was buried with full honors.

Tap, tap-tap, tap, tap-tap...
"WILL YOU STOP THAT!!!"
no, no-no, no, no-no...
--- SLAP!!!---

...yesss ma'am...

...silence...

Author's Note

Chris
"...memories - sweet and always gentle on my mind... memories..."
Tunes just echo. Tap, tap-tap...

"I can sit so still a self-winding watch - won't. Takes learning..."

I read again and your poetry speaks differently each time its read. Sad, and I remember learning to juke...

I heard not tap, tap but rata-tat-tat and looked out to see the woodpecker, tapping
the tree, not really a tree, just what was left, a dried up vestage and wondered what the message was, tap-tap-tap, that redheaded bird, so absurd, yet the only thing telling me good morning.
Being quiet is wonderful, does take learning but once it clicks, how far we can go with it.

Like Morse Code, or those computers of old that spat long rolls of message tape. Nice work.
