Hearing the sound of quiet

Hearing the sound of quiet

A Poem by Andy

Hearing the sound of quiet
Along the lake's edge, waves lapping at the shore
Shrouded in sweet, early morning mist
Carrying the canoe to the water
Through the rocks that dot the red clay
Pushing off, with a stroke of the paddle
Hearing the sound of quiet

Drawing in the smell of the lake
Gliding along the shore
A deer at water's edge
Bream and bass slap at the surface
Paddle dipping into clear water
Hearing the sound of quiet

The canoe whispering forward
Sun slowly rising
Overpowering the mist
Opening the lake's majestic colors
Awakening life to the new day
Hearing the sound of quiet

You took me there with this one. Nice imagery and a very calming poem. It damn sure makes me want to trade my hour plus Seattle commute for your morning commute.
