Apocalypse Love Song

Apocalypse Love Song

A Poem by Andy East

Started as a blip in outer space
A silent threat to the whole human race
Celestial winds carry it near
Blocking out the sun it's finally here

The end of it all has finally arrived
No shelter. No salvation. Nowhere to hide
Panic sets in giving way to frustration
Tv reporting a suicide nation.

Churches packed up to the bleachers.
Looking for hope from god fearing preachers.
Little too late for all but a few
A meteor breaks down the doors and rips right through

The rains came down spreading death and destruction
Just like Pompeii with Vesuvius eruption
The sky glows bright raining with fire
Sets my heart alight, burning up in desire

I will walk this scorched earth to see you smile
Breathe in the dead air to see you for a while
There's nothing I wouldn't do. I'd give anything
To be with you now, feel the touch of your skin

To lose you now would be my end of days
For your heart I'd stare down armageddons gaze
Together, entwined and in love's sweet tether
As our bodies burn, our hearts live on forever.
