Weapons of Mass Destruction

Weapons of Mass Destruction

A Poem by Andy East

A quick final recon

See what needs to be done

No mercy will I give

For no longer can they live

They spread throughout this land

Choking all with outstretched hand

A disease in their existence

Time to show my resistance

First the chemical weapon

A deadly mist of my poison

Soaking deep into their veins

Until a shattered shell remains

Charged with fuel, engine ignites

And the rotor blades take flight

My finger firmly on the button

Of this weapon of destruction

Hovering left and then right

I see them scurrying with fright

I ripped through homes and shelters

Decapitating the young and elders

Show no mercy. Death to all

Strike them down. Watch them fall

I turn around for another run

I watch them scurry, mother and son

As they lie dead and defeated

There ranks have all but depleted

Homes destroyed with no remorse

It's all just part for the course

With engine cut my job is done

Surveying my sweet destruction

Time to enjoy peace at last

For now I've finally cut my grass

haha a very unexpected ending and funny, too. I love writes with a twist.
the description was (intentionally, I know) brought to mind a genuine attack on people with weapons of mass destruction. creepy. but then I was sure it was an attack on cockroaches (abhorrent parasites!).
No! never saw that one coming.
