Season of Madness

Season of Madness

A Poem by Angelreads
"

We all are constantly tempted by the desires of our flesh, and the right thing to do by our soul. This is my poetic view on it all.

"
Because there's four walls and four corners
and suddenly I see it all
Because in my mind's absence
my flesh tends to dictate the calls.

In my head I try and turn it off
but the devil doesn't have an off switch
He runs on my desire
He's the dog yet I've become his...

What hurts most is that I like it
My flesh begs for what my soul despises
And I know that my actions are impure
but how long till my body realizes

Sometimes I think that I'm passed it
But then the devil lingers in the shadows
Just waiting for me to stumble
My fleshly desires now his flaming arrows

My God says arm yourself
so I close my eyes and put on protection
I wasn't invited to my own demise
Feeling like a guest at my sins resurrection

Where does the cycle end
Is there ever a stop to this sadness
Dancing between flesh and soul
An unbreakable season of madness
