The Sirens.

Otherworldly..
transfixed we were,
the sirens' music
within the nightly mist.

Damnation..
we belonged,
insanity
terror
depression
the foreboding fear -
we felt them all.

The sirens' music was heard,
it crept into our consciousness
and so we stood frigid..
cold were our bodies
and warm were our hearts
within this nightly mist.

There's a real ominous feel to this that grabbed me as I read. The sirens music comes off as threatening, and sinister. The dread and dismay of the situation is conveyed great in this.
