Earth is our Home

Earth is our Home

A Poem by Angeline Lee
"

Wrote based on the 15th sustainable development goals, I won 3rd place for my university's poem writing competition.

"
    God our Father the creator of heaven and earth;
 Make men and women in his own image, bless us to be fruitful and multiply;
Look! The waterfall is like a diver, reaching for the water that await it;
Rampaging river is like a silver ribbon that laid across the land;
 Moving swiftly, stealing anything that is on its path.

The hills roll away like sleeping lions, as big as the boulders;
It looked like a Little Rock Candy Mountain, as lush as any Hobbit Realm!
 Sea of Sand shine like coins strewn across the dark sand;
The Land is Full of Song;
 The Land from a beautiful painting come to Life!

Oh human beings, please stop destroying your home!
 Look, our Earth was once beautiful and clean!
 All humans and animals live in harmony for years;
Less pollution and disease during the old times;
Together we protect our Mother Earth.

Hey my fellow people! Let us plant back all the trees that we cut down;
 We reduce, reuse and recycle, so the Earth will stay safe once more.
 Stop illegal hunting and let us reserve for our coming generations;
 Let’s save our lovely animals from the danger of extinction;
 Let’s return our Mother’s beauty together!
