Wanderlust

Wanderlust

A Poem by Anima Inspired

Within this blissful delirium,
I find myself wandering slowly
through fields where the grass
is knee-high and soft, the blades
brushing softly against my bare legs,

and I search the sides of mountains,
walking well-worn paths where
my footsteps are only shadows
treading upon the distance
between our two hearts.

Along the water’s edge,
I find solace in the crisp depth
of a winding stream, drinking
the sweet blue water with my mind
while I muse, your face finding peace
within the rippling current,

always smiling, always reassuring,
always showing me the way home.

Beautiful and romantic vision, light metaphysical feelings that dreams are made of,
reading is to find one's self walking distant paths, and I liked the layout presented with an easeful flow, images drift through the mind, the title itself is captivating,

and presents a spin of desirous passion that coincides with the meaning, the heart
feels the imagination connecting with the muse, a yearning to travel to the depths
of eternity, and beyond, there is a lulling aspect to the feeling when read, how you

played in the idea of finding home, feels like the pinicle return to innocence type
wandering in solace, metaphorically created with passionate intent, Nicely done.

I absolutely love this piece. I think each stanza is my favorite (if I'm allowed to do that) This stanza is a poem within a poem. It's beautifully done.

Along the water's edge,
I find solace in the crisp depth
of a winding stream, drinking
the sweet blue water with my mind
while I muse, your face finding peace
within the rippling current,

The most interesting lines though, the ones which I keep re-reading, looking for your true purpose are... (maybe you can message me with your intent)

and I search the sides of mountains, (mountains can imply soooo much poetically that I can only wonder...)
walking well-worn paths where (well worn paths... again the mind can only wonder... why well-worn?)
my footsteps are only shadows (deep line here too)
treading upon the distance
between our two hearts.

All in all it's a great poem. It's worth far more than the paper it's ever printed upon.

Wow, nice fantasy you present :).
The apparition of the blades was unexpected nice touch.

A beautiful, loving and very romantic poem. I really enjoyed it. I especailly loved the imagery, it made me feel as if I was outdoors in this beautiful place with fields and mountains and that wonderful winding stream with such sweet blue water. You took me into the moment and I love it when a write does that. A well written piece with great flow and amazing imagery. Very well done. ;)

I agree that your ability to evoke feeling out of imagery is excellent. I like how you ground feelings in objects and make them into symbols and metaphors. There is a real blossoming talent in your writing! - EllisD

Hmm...I would think that the title of this poem would fit Sea of Chance more accurately, but then again, you see things as they need to be seen. =) I think what I like more about this poem is the way in which you describe this "blissful delirium," hmm, I think it's a sentiment that I share at this point. =)
