The Monster

This poem is inspired by the anxiety I struggle with and how poorly my family has dealt with it.

He's coming for you.
He's running faster.
Don't turn around.
OH NO! 
It's too late.
The monster is already here and he wants you.

He'll suck every bit of life you have inside.
He'll wipe away your smile and steal your laugh.
He'll crush your dreams and give you nightmares.
He is the monster and he wants you.

It's not your fault.
You never summoned the monster.
You never wanted to be the victim, but you just are.
He'll never stop until you're gone forever.
He is the monster and he knows nobody cares enough to save you.
