A Love Forbidden

A Love Forbidden

A Poem by Anna Ivy
"

A poem/story of the love between a young girl and a werewolf.

"

The wolf glanced around cautiously

Knowing the hunters were looking for him

And he crept to her window

Slowly, quietly.

She knew he was there

She could feel his presence

She opened the window

And looked down at yellow eyes

She smiled

Silently she climbed out

And onto his back

Where she wound her finders into his black fur

And held on as he ran into the woods

Her slender, pale legs

Straddled his sides

His fur against her thighs

She breathed in his scent of fresh earth

And closed her pretty green eyes

Beside the river he slowed and stopped

Where she slid off his back

Onto the grass

And gazed into his eyes

Where only the moon could see

He nuzzled against her neck

Breathed in her scent of lavender

And let her take him in her arms

Let me see you

Said she in a soft whisper

As the man you are beneath the sun

His eyes closed as her fingers slithered through his fur

He prayed she wouldn't be afraid

For he knew she would recognize him

She would be horrified to know

Her once teacher was a werewolf

He was a lean and strong man

Still a bachelor in his mid-twenties

Wanting nothing to do with the women

In big hats and tight corsets

Who flocked to him and begged for approval

From the tall, dark and handsome teacher

His eye was on Adella

Slender pale and sweet

Thick reddish hair and bright green eyes

Rounded lips and keen on literature

Recently of age as well

Please

She whispered

Pressing herself against him

In a tighter embrace

How could he say no

He tightened his jaw as the change began

It was quick and jolting

Something you never get used to

And in a moment he was flesh

Frozen with fear of her reaction

She was startled

And sat up to get a better look

He kept his face turned

Perhaps she wouldn't recognize him

With his hair let down

But she did

At once she covered her mouth

He turned to her

With a look of regret

And saw tears in her eyes

No, No

he said as he rose up

Wrapping his arms around her

I never wanted to hurt you

To his surprise she returned the embrace

And with a laugh

Kissed his cheek

I hoped it was you

Author's Note

Anna Ivy
Not sure what time period, but definitely not modern day ;)
Few things were implied, like how the hunters were looking for him. He's an unusually large wolf. Not a wolf-man. Thus, no one is hunting him knowing he has human intelligence.

I really enjoyed this. You spun it together smoothly and the emotions between the two came across endearingly, which I felt really made the piece beautiful. I like how you choose to go with a non traditional take on the Wolf character. This is a bonus in my opinion for traditional werewolves are really over used and over played in stories these days.

Awesome Ink Anna!

Thank you :)
A great little fantasy going on within your poem here, seems to me even though this isn't a modern day story, it's still about the bad boy and our attraction to him, quite liked this one Anna.

Nicely penned and a lovely ending. Your story was great and you kept the reader interested throughout. I thought it had something to do with a werewolf before I found out.
I liked how it was set in a time long ago with the imagery of the corsets etc..
A great fantasy. Well done!

Thanks! I've always loved the image of a werewolf and Victorian lady together. Such a contrast.
