The Unknown

The Unknown

A Poem by Anna Rivers

In some ways, it would have been better if things only stayed the same...
But they can't be the same.
Jane looked out her window and knew it to be so...
In such a hurry to go out and explore her new world, did she consider the meaning of her 'good-bye?'
So many things were left behind.
Family, friends, a world she recognized, and the security her family built for her...
Yet, it felt needed to be done.
Things needed to change.
She had to grow.
Some things, no matter how painful, are necessary for growth.
She could not help it.
It had to be done.
She took one last stare at the world she once knew.
The town she loved, the people within it...

What will become of it all once she returned?

What was this new life?.......
.............................
................

.....and was it worth it?

Fear not the unknown. While the unknown could be filled with thorns,
it is also gifted with treasures that sometimes contain a light so bright,
it blinds you from the fact that it is there, staring at you right in the face.
