Life just gets in the way sometimes.

bite the lip
let it out
it doesn't come

can't help it
can't find it
can't just can't

it

that burp of ultimate truth
found late at night
that unscratched itch
toss, turn

burn

it's there just below the surface
lost to me, unable to see
perfect darkness

imperfect light shines today
a fog of illegitimacy
in a haze of uncertainty
born of falsehood

a lie to myself denies
the existence of being
shrouded in cloud

can't see
can't do
can't be

shout

let it out
bare the soul
it doesn't come

Very understated but perfectly expressed Anne. How many times have we all had something important to say but it never comes out. Often it is for the best but sometimes we really need to take the plunge. Maybe next time.

Thanks Coyote. I'm still unsure about the ordering of the last three lines. I might move bare the soul before let it out, although that breaks up shout, let it out. I don't know. BTW, I'm cutting the amount of time I spend here, as Norton is giving me loads of malware warnings, related to the ads. Malwarebytes used to do it, and now Norton is in on the act.
