Habito in passione

Habito in passione

A Poem by Anne Martin
"

Sometime it is hard to come back from the dead.

"

purple passion
out of fashion
a heart stops cold
in desperation

toil boils underfoot
a molten landscape
burns frozen inside
the unwritten words

latent poesy

a potent latency

a million stars
denuded in stasis
of unspoken dreams

buried underneath
a carnage of memory

to be fancy-free
a whirling dance
a ballet in still water,
spreading concentricity

distant light, dim
invites, fickle friend,
a neutered catalyst
to wake the sleeping leviathan

set the passion free
melt the frozen tide
uncast the spell
that binds

inspiration unconfine
push out from safe harbor
take the plunge
passion in me lives

It sounds as though the speaker has almost been beaten down by circumstances, but not quite. A spark of hope remains, which, with will behind it, could trigger a resurrection.
