The English Countryside

The English Countryside

A Poem by Joseph Mulpeter
"

short poem expressing my love for the English countryside.

"
Now listen closely to the breeze
and the nightingales that sing within the tree's
the english countryside is all but gloom
as the meadows and foxglove begin to bloom
as spring rolls by with it's luscious sun rays
the people come out, and make the most of their day

the smiles all round, that light up their face's
along comes a butterfly, for the children to chase it
the people of the village look down past the hills
at the flower's of the meadow, foxglove's and daffodils
it's the best time of year, the best time to be alive
it's my favourite place on earth, this of course the english countryside.

Love the word picture you've painted here with strong details. I relate to the place where I live, it's part of me, so I can feel this same sense of pride & joy in your message. There are a few spelling issues -- no apostrophe needed on plural form of words -- line2: "trees" . . . line5: "its" . . . line7: "faces" . . . line10: "foxgloves" . . . note -- on the last two lines, the apostrophe is OK becuz there's a contraction (it's = it is). Thanks for sharing your pure enjoyment of your lovely place (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Joseph -
So beautiful and serene you make me wish to be there.
My wife and I were in London a few years ago. Unfortunately we didn't have the time to visit the countryside, perhaps the next time.
