Pain

Pain

A Poem by J.L. Davenport
"

We all endure it

"
If ever it could hurt so bad
So bad if ever it could hurt
Like birth, the pain unbearable but in the end brings good things
Let me explain
If a torch shall burn, the fire should be lit
In the flame is a beautiful essence but if you touch that flame you will only feel pain
Pain; good things?
Can it be that through pain brings good things?
Tears can help you see
See yourself just a little clearer
I sit here with my mind on fire
My heart hurts
This body aches
Nevertheless, I wait for the beauty that will awaken through this pain
I say in the eye is a lie and the body can be deceiving
I say in the heart is misjudgments but the mind is not blind you'll see this in time
Until then it is one pain after the other
Another bruise to heal
More pain to feel
Until you see, what is real and real is the comfort of yourself not in the small comforts of another
