Coming Home

A poem to cope with waiting for my soldier to return.

Poems, stories, and love songs too
Will never be able to say the words
Of how I feel about you
Many nights I lie awake
Thinking of the day of dreams
The day that you come back to me
To clear the clouds and debris
That fills my mind everyday

TV shows, movies, and songs
Fill my with fear each and every day
Always reminding me of where you have gone away
Some days I cry
So worried about you
But the moment I hear your voice
The fears all wash away
A river of love
Quickly takes its place

I cannot wait for that summer day
When you come back to me
Come back and take the pain away
On that day you will finally see
Exactly what you mean to me
For I have waited for you to return
Always faithful, always in love

A soldier's love comes with a price
So much pain and sleepless nights

But in the end it is all worth it
To see you walking towards me
A love that is stronger than most
A love that I share with you

So to my dearest Tyler
I ask you please
Always stay safe
And come home to me.
