Ashes on a CloudA Poem by Archishman Rick
Borne by the worries of perennial shroud,
Drifted up visions of ashes on a cloud, As charred effervescence of cognitive strain, Preparing for the downpour of turbid rain. I searched in the air for a potion to clear, The floating attachments gloomy yet so dear, Sifting through the shades to let the self attune, To the conjured up weather's mysterious rune. As if to pass decree on the senses earth-bound, Hovered leaden layers of ashes on a cloud, To either cast dreary veils of withering death, Or lay disguised blessing to redeem each tense breath. © 2023 Archishman RickFeatured Review
