Sting of Irony

Sting of Irony

A Poem by Archishman Rick

A trillion thorns glare over your head,
To clear what living space still remains,
Your knightly shield lengthens the stoic stead,
Delaying the moment of goring rains.

The stand endures with an unyielding spirit,
Wielding the heat of a searing wave,
Bolstering the will to push past the limit,
Through the crumbling bleak icicle cave.

You had arrived with a smile worth a priceless shine,
With nobility warm to set alight a change,
Just to pay the smile's worth in diminishing time,
As the destination lay still a ways from range.

Dead weight of ignorance descends with deadly edge,
To be borne and led away from ignorant lives,
Tipped by the sting of irony whilst you keep a pledge
In vision of the wisdom that can soften knives.
