Long Days

Long Days

A Poem by Quill

ever had a bad day?

Heavy eyes, slumped back, tired minds

Bitter taste in mouth and a dry throat

Breathing has become tedious

Listening to words now irritable

Jokes are perceived as insults

Everything insight incites rage

No comfort is felt or perceived

All activities gives unending pain

One cannot cry for help or support

For there is no strength to call upon anyone

It seems hell has finally come to earth

So many instructions yet nothing coherent

All conjectures are senseless

With endless arrays of worthless actions

It feels ridiculous and repetitive

However such days are expected

that's surely how it can feel - we've all been there. you've skillfully captured the essence of such days - like a twilight zone. now i'm depressed (just kidding). good write - a bit uncomfortable and disturbing ... :)

Always a pleasure Pete, not sure how I could have written it without being a little discomforting
This poem is a great description of clinical depression. Very powerfully written, and incredibly moving.

You know I still wonder is there is a singular cure for depression, glad you found it interesting
