Juneau

Juneau

A Poem by Ashira Macy
"

I have been in Alaska the past week and have been majorly inspired.

"

Long have I heard

Of misty mountains’ majesty,

But it never dawned fully

Until I saw her there in Juneau.

Jutting up in magnificent grandeur -

Clouds hung around her in adoration,

Kissing her face

As two streams of crystal tears

Trickled down her jade cheeks

In awe of her own splendor.

I sighed and breathed in

Her earthy perfume

As I swam in serenity.

Beautifully written, especially loved "As two streams of crystal tears
Trickled down her jade cheeks
In awe of her own splendor." the words just flowed and your pace was wonderful.

Thank you my friend, the site was so beautiful I just had to share it.
It's amazing how much a part of you the mountains become after you have lived in them long enough... After spending the majority of my life in mountains of one form or another, and regularly going up alone and hiking hundreds of miles through them, enjoying the whole ambiance of a land untouched.... it is difficult not being near them. Every time I am away from them, I have a hard time figuring out where I am, and I always feel like there is something missing. Sigh, I can relate to this on so many levels!

I like that you start off with 'but it never dawned fully'. It sets the stage for the unimaginable beauty you describe.

Thanks so much.
So you have been to Alaska
to the mountain top
waited for the clouds
to embrace kissing your face
So she came down to earth
with an almighty brace

Like this very much.
