Sometimes when I dream,
I see a sunflower field,
You running in between,
In a white dress,
Running,
Running Free.
The sun is still high,
Shining bright,
You dash in fields of yellow,
And for a minute,
Dazed,
I watch.
Dark hair flowing wildly, dress trailing behind,
Laughter carried in the breeze,
All this in sunflower fields,
I cannot keep from smiling " happy,
This,
I did.
A tentative step forward,
Then I break into a run after you.
When I catch you,
We tumble to the ground.
Us,
And sunflowers.
Laying there I turn my head,
See you watching me,
Your eyes sparkling brilliantly,
And your smile filled with joy.
Love.
Our love.
Stories are shared,
Whispered somewhere in sunflower fields,
We stay here for hours,
Hidden and happy and "
Whisper,
Love you.
As the sun begins to set,
We get up and dance,
Round and round,
To a tune only we hear,
Together,
As one.
I step back to watch,
“Twirl for me,”
You look at me,
Spread your arms to the sides,
Laugh,
And… Twirl.
I’d be lying If I said,
It wasn’t the most amazing thing,
Seeing you, Beautiful, twirl,
In a white dress amongst sunflowers, at set.
Gorgeous,
My star.
I hug you,
Our lips meet,
It grows dark and we must go,
You pull me close and whisper,
But,
No need.
For you whisper “thank you,”
To which I reply, “love you.”
