My Muse

My Muse

A Poem by AstralArtist

My Muse

From a far distance
A cry is heard
To tell me she is near
And on her way
To pump life into this weary heart
And let the ugly world start
To beautify once again

How easily she does win me over
To a world she rules as queen
Brimming with life seldom seen
By so fortunate a few
I’ve the pleasure to always view
The golden skin of her naked soul
In her habitat forever wild

She is the woman child
Whose beauty graces the rough canvas
Of my framed three by five world
And who with every stroke I give
Becomes much more alive
Than I could ever hope to thrive
For a creation of mine to so live

And from the darkest corner
Of my multi colored mind
My eyes have begun to grind
Imagery of a new standard of being
Over the lovingly blended green
And into the gold like amber
Of her long maiden’s hair
More than my imagination could bare
Is her flirtation with perfection
That stalks my veins
And splashes the inflection
Of my need to declare
The breaking of the chains
And the confinement I’ve sustained

She begins her exotic trip
Stoops to innocently sip
From a free flowing stream
Naked body’s eyes beam
Reflections of a lemon silk sun
Cutting through the rigid stand
Of a forest glen maze

Her wildly free friends would stop to gaze
Upon her ghostly white back
Imposed upon by sunlight
And with all their beastly might
Wish that they’d be human
So as to be at once like her
Captured as my masterwork for all time

The image of my muse is its own rhyme
