A Poem by Curtis

Her door she hides behind
Feeling lost in her mind
She once was okay
Now she just doesn’t feel the same way
Something happened that changed her
She’s forgotten who you always were
Is God really with me?
Why is he so hard to see?

Crying in a corner
Feeling God is not with her
Shivering in fright
She’s lost view of the light
She can’t see the good that’s left
She feels her heart has been cleft
She fears the future
She fears being unsure

But someone close comes to her side
Tears form that she cannot hide
The feeling of him there
Just knowing someone does care
Looking for a way to be a helper
He sits down beside her
He puts his arm around her shoulder
And inside she begins to feel warmer
She knows she has questions with no answer
But things are always better when he’s with her
Feelings of worry and fear begin to subside
She fills with relief and solace inside
The smile on his face,
It brings her to a serene place
With her body in his arms, he holds on tight
He pulls her in and says “everything’s going to be alright”
