A Poem by :-)
"

This is just about society's expectations; what's politically correct and whatnot. I deliberately wrote this almost... Childishly, hysterically.

"
Curl your fingers into fists;
They're waiting for me
To do them wrong!
So,
What with who did you assist?
Starting with the burnt hit list?
Moving down the names,
Arranged into a blazing song?
Now the page is much too long.

Now who says I can't believe
What or who I want to see?
Songs that I just want to sing?
Voices that just talk to me?

Hah! Never more will I suppress
These flaming feelings
Of regret!
I will not forget,
And I have not forgotten,
The bleak black fires that I had set.
Then are you sure we'll never let
Them claim conditions they have not met,
And claim the fires that I had set?

...Now the tears last much too long.

Author's Note

:-)
This is just about society's expectations; what's politically correct and whatnot. I deliberately wrote this almost childishly, hysterically. I'm not sure if I got the point across, but whatever. This was still really fun to write!

Oh my gosh, thanks for the nice review! :D
Writing on society's expectations was the need of the hour.
I am glad you just did it.
Childish writing gives one the chance to pull legs too.
I specially appreciate the last stanza.
