Intimacy (Posted: January 7, 2021)

A Poem by Audie G. Couch
"

I used part of a statement I heard in "The Wedding Crashers" at the end of this poem.

"
Transcending physical barriers.
A connection between like minds.
Spiritual in nature.
Acceptance of one's whole self,
The good; the bad,
Emotions run ever deeper.
An unknown part of your heart.
In silence, in a slumber.
Til the day it awakens because
Of Its counterpart found in another.

We must Audie.
"Acceptance of one's whole self,
The good; the bad,"
We must accept who we are. Accept the good with the bad. Nice flow of thoughts led to a meaningful poem shared.

Thanks, Van Dyke.
A very full portrait of true intimacy. It is a sad truth that many forgo it in favor of surface connections.
