A Moment of You

A Moment of You

A Poem by Devashish Kumar

A moment of glorious smile
which blossoms and
adorns your charming face

A moment of shared happiness
which bears my name on it
for which I am responsible

A moment of forgiveness
when no past deeds burden us
when we look at future with promise

A moment of intertwined hearts
when words cease to matter
when we speak in silence

A moment of togetherness
A moment of passion
A moment of you

Thank you for entering your poem in my competition.

This is such a beautiful piece.

I love all of your descriptions and I feel that you convey so much love in such a few lines.

This stanza in particular was my favourite:

A moment of forgiveness
when no past deeds burden us
when we look at future with promise

It is difficult in life to just 'be', whether that be in the moment alone or with somebody else. You have captured something we all want in three lines. To live in the moment and forget the past, to look forward.
