Fate of Some Stories

Fate of Some Stories

A Poem by Devashish Kumar

Some stories are without names.
They survive in crumpled pages of old
journals awaiting acknowledgment,
in fearful anxiety they will perhaps
become powerful when given names.

Some stories are left behind near a
concrete bench by the side of some
crossroad, in the shadow of Ashoka trees.
They linger in cold hearths of memories
for they find no graceful way to end.

Some stories are yet to commence-
trapped in the injustices of this world,
their voices stifled, opportunities stolen.
Beware, these smouldering dreams need
only a gush of wind to turn into wildfires.

Hmm....tangles in thougts!
Does stories cry when they are named sad or do they smile when named love?!
Who knows they also cherish the desire to have a story written about "Story"!!
It's a really splendid piece about story....great thoughts you put😊
