a day of gathering

a day of gathering

A Poem by Devashish Kumar

stand we did there
near our concrete bench
by the side of crossroad
to bid us a goodbye

the time was well-nigh
winds but weren’t ready
birds refused to relinquish
leaves rustled impatiently

a day of parting was it
or a day of gathering
of many memories
of our last vestiges
