"Crazy, Beautiful, Mess"

"Crazy, Beautiful, Mess"

A Poem by Kimberly Ellis

She's this crazy, beautiful mess

keep her in your sights

She's blazing with fire and lies, fist swings and fights

with matches and gasoline, igniting her latest mood swing.

She's a perfectly lovely scene,

because in the blink of your eyes

lipstick and legs

with cigarette stained fingers, vodka and ice.

don't look away

She's pretty when she's high

watch her closely, this one

profanity and pornography

with a camera and film, writing her very next play

don't you dare look away

She's a new lesson to be learned, a new heart to win

so don't lose your vision

video cameras and vicodin

her lights shining bright, she will show you the way

She's a perfectly lovely ride,

your eyes on her prize because you can't bare to look away.

heels and headboards

with sweet, dark eyes, closed in tangled dream scenes,

you can't possibly look away

salty, sweetness seeping from her very seams

She's a crazy b***h, even on her best day.

She's this crazy, beautiful mess

and I just can't look away.

The title fits this piece perfectly. I love the way you describe her! Some of my favorite lines would be:
"She's blazing with fire and lies"
"with cigarette stained fingers, vodka and ice."
"salty, sweetness seeping from her very seams"
Great piece!
