i know you'll stay

i know you'll stay

A Poem by AutumnBelle

There’s so much I want to tell you.

I look at you and wonder.

Why do you like me? What makes you stay?

I hover in fearful silence.

I’m afraid. Scared. Terrified.

Do I take the risk. Let go of all I know and race ahead holding your hand

Run down the mud shore of the unforgiving ocean. My hair sticks to my arms and back. Your face is shining with moisture. Pealing thunder. lightning scissoring. Dare i?

I’m afraid that once I let you cross the threshold. Know me. Then you will vanish.

Too good to be true.

Then I’ll be left in a hole. Struck and soaked.

Alone.

To get myself out. To recover from the banging reality that I’m forgotten and not good enough.

But

I want to trust you. So badly.

I do.

I want to trust. I close my eyes. I see honey light and salty spray. Seagulls. Shore dotted with shells. The waves keep kissing our toes. I know you’ll stay.

Nice poem, from the following line of the poem "Why do you like me? What makes you stay?" the character questions and doubt answers her question concluding with the following line from the poem of confidence as you think is what you create " I know you’ll stay. ", Amazing.
