My own personal erosion

My own personal erosion

A Poem by Avelina
"

Coming to grips with aging

"
I sit on this creek bank and look at a stone
no one will ever look at the stone as I have
This round smooth stone used to be part of something much bigger but time and the motion of erosion have conformed it
Something magnificent had to take it from its place that was once a huge boulder I presume
It and others alike have taken their form and like countless in the stream their shadow creates the waters blanket
I too have been apart of the bigger or at least I think I hope
Time is on my face and created a single crease across my brow
my own personal erosion has begun
I like the stone am strong but not impenetrable
This stone in this home for now will remain
But not unmarked
Or untouched
Eventually it will wear into nothing
Much like myself
Granted to just be but not free from time

Beautifully written...so much so that its innate beauty makes it resistant to any forms of erosions!
Keep writing.. 😊
