The She-Wolf's last night

The She-Wolf's last night

A Poem by Lola Nad

It was a cold and winter night,
While the snow was twirling down the sky
That the young she-wolf decided to die.

Howling her pain and misery,
Hidden in the dark cloak of the night
She always kept her pain hidden,
Hidden from all of her comrades.

But as the snow whitens her fur,
She draws another set of scars,
Slashing her flesh another time,
Drawing out blood for one last time.

Suddenly she howls in pain,
While the blood gushes out the wound,
The She-wolf prayers were not in vain,
In this cold and snowy light.

She smiles as she knows it means death,
She smiles at her sudden freedom,
Laying her head right on the snow,
She closes her eyes,
And, slowly,
Dies.
