Weeping Willow

Weeping Willow

A Poem by Ayla Automatic
"

A song I wrote recently

"

Holding up or fallling apart

My heart is like a stack of cards

Falling across your bedsheets

I won't be lonely, I can't be only

a passing fleeting love again

or maybe less than that

Sometimes I feel like the only one

with a heart thats made of glass

But that glass was made to look like stone

So I find myself all alone

I won't be lonely, I can't be the only

Rock in the bottom of this river

Maybe the water will smooth me over

for someone to notice me

I'll take my chances hoping maybe

You saw something strange in the water lately

So I won't be lonely, So I won't be the only

fire in the world without a match

or fisherman without a catch

OH! Please darling just find me

So I won't be lonely, So I shan't be the only.

Swaying like a weeping willow

I'm the only one in the meadow here though

and that wind blows cold all night

I watch and search and hope and pray

It doesn't take you long to come my way

So I won't be lonely, so I shan't be the only.
