The Prologue.

The Prologue.

A Chapter by Alexander Z. Anthony
"

The Prologue. Need I say more?

"
It began on the fifteenth day, of the tenth month, of the year nineteen-thousand and nintey two. It began under the intense sun of a subtropical, semi-urban landscape. It began on the banks of a river. A strong and wide river that was birthed far in the north, from the womb of an expansive swamp and flowed south as the lifeline of all civilization around it. It began where oak and fern met. Where sky, earth and water became one. It began, and thusly, so did He.

I like the way you continued to use "it began". It had the potential to just be redundant, but it made it more dramatic. :)
