Stoic Eyes

Stoic Eyes

A Poem by Brette Medb

The Silent old man,
You've seen him before
Standing sentinel
At the crossroads of life.
Stoic in his choices,
Regretful of little,
Joyful of much,
Even if hidden
Behind sorrowful eyes.

I've always believed stoicism is the best way to be. I'm a stoic, fundamentally. I don't get expressive of much of anything. This poem is really good--"Regretful of little, Joyful of much, Even if hidden Behind sorrowful eyes"--yep. That's a stoic, all right

Wow, bravo. There is just enough here to make the reader have an opinion, and enough vagueness that we'll all color our own picture in. This is brilliantly executed.

When you live life to the fullest it is easier to except your mistakes and rejoice in your accomplishments... Very nice little poem.
