No One

I wrote this one in dedication to my wonderful (sarcastic) experience I had in high school.

No one cares about you until you're dead

No one sympathizes with you until you're dead

No one will like your looks until you're dead

No one will like you until you're dead

No one will admire my glory until I'm dead

No one knows I exist until I'm dead

No one will reach out to me until I'm dead

No one will cry with me until I'm dead

So why don't we just drop dead

And let death do us apart already?

Beautiful and van Gogh-esque message. I agree with the notion that no one really cares about who we are or what stories we tell. My poem "Flight 9451" is similar. I must say, I do not agree that no one will care until we die, though. In my opinion, none of us are important enough to warrant any kind of sentiment from people. When we die, the world goes on and eventually we are all forgotten. Over all excellent piece!
