Stay With Me Child

Stay With Me Child

A Poem by Brad

Stay with me child, for the forest is close!

Our path is perilous, narrow, and easily lost

The dark all around hides danger and fear

Stay with me child and we’ll make it through here!

Run with me Dad, for the forest is green!

The path is wide and easily seen

Look!  We’ve companions, the fox and the deer

Run with me Dad, there’s nothing to fear!

Stay with me child, you’ve gone too far ahead!

How can I live, if you are dead?

I cannot keep up, before it’s too late

Stay with me child, and I’ll keep you safe!

Catch up with me Dad, isn’t this fun!

My joy swells, my heart pounds, why shouldn’t I run?

I’m a King, a pirate, and a Jedi too

Catch up with me dad, there’s so much to do!

I can’t see you child, what can I do!

The path is no more and I cannot get through

Run as far and as fast as you can through the wood

I can’t see you child, I did the best that I could.
