Pieces

Pieces

A Poem by Babbette Francis

I sit low in the bus seat.
Strangers, they can’t figure me out.
Their eyes burning holes, I  sit expressionless.

A bird flies high and disappears from my windows view.
Trees, poles, fields.  The view constantly changing.
A heart sticker on the glass and I wonder who put it there.
A little girl? Love struck teen?

The bus rolls to my stop.
I’ll take the sticker.
It’ll last.

Sometimes a sticker will last much longer than love.
I am thinking it was left by a love struck teen.
I remember in high school when love struck teens would have the names of their interest all over
their text books...the teachers frowned.
I really like your engaging themes...and I am big on final lines and you end your poems
with a bang...leaves the reader pondering.

Ohh..... dearest you got me by this...lovely piece, you put here a reality piece. Yesterday night, i was in bus and arriving towards my home from my college, i was damn late and it was dark outside, the same feeling i was getting right out there at a time about trees, stop, home, leaves, strangers...:)
you really refreshed my last night visit...:) cuz...in a bus, i was ast last seat as you were in...lol :)
i'm damn sure, you made and jotted this piece since or when you were in bus at last and surrounded by passengers that all were strangers...what a beautiful piece...it's real, i can feel as i did feel.
Great job. 100/1001

Dear Babbette,

Again fear. Out on the high wire again. Still the small token of the of the heart sticker grounds your existence at least a little. It is sufficient comfort to take it with you, a symbol that everything on the outside world is not hostile.

Greatly enjoyed.

Best regards,

Rick
