What Happened?

What Happened?

A Poem by AyeooSteph

Every single day when I’m walking
With my head up, going down the street
I see people hugging and kissing
I hear people saying "babe" so sweet.
I keep asking myself, What happened to those feelings we had?
All those words we used to say to each other?
You loved me, I loved you
You were mine and I was yours too.
I remember the first time we met
When we first looked at each other's eyes
I thought you were the one for me
I thought you wouldn't hurt me
You always told me that I'm the only one
that you ever dreamed of
You told me I was the missing key
to your heart, for how special I was to you
What happened?
What happened to us and our love?
What happened to all those promises you made to me?
Why didn't you just tell me the truth and not hurt me?
Why you had to be the one to break my heart apart?
I find it hard to let go, but you have moved on
Wished we could bring it all back
That wont happen, so I'm on to the next one

I wrote on another writer's work here about this dilemma... let me see if I can find and put with this review... I believe I founded it:

Love is a lesson learned... if you want to experience a fairy tale read a book... but in reality, love must hurt both ways to actual understand the full message of the word... The world is not the problem... it’s the people who do not know how to balance the word versus lust... and in turn use the word as an advantage to a benefit...

This is a moving tale of how sometimes love goes. Hopefully not very often.

You say it very well. It brought up times in my life where love had faded. (Thanks a lot) lol

I didn't notice any thing that I would recommend you change. Another well done work.

I guess we have to move on sometimes.
Some things just don't work out
so we learn to slowly ( perhaps painfully ) let go.
As long as we know we tried our best to make it work.
