Forever

Forever

A Poem by Tay

It was summer
A sweet love afair
We were just kids
It started with a whisper
A smile
A raised brow
Winks and sweet kisses
Soft hands and gentle lips
Forever lasts a lifetime when you're 16
Together. Forever. I promise
Broken lies and broken hearts
Fall comes around
Things heat up
I. Love. You.
Three words hushed betweens moans
Falls in love
A big decision
Here take my hand
The leap of faith
A path for family
Winter
Deeply in love
Inseparable
Big fights
Jagged words
Rough hands
Deeper in love.
Desperate
I need you
You can't ever leave me.
A smile
Promised sealed kisses
Good news
A baby
A bouncing little boy
Responsibility
Promises crumble like glass
Anger flies
Bodies push
Ice below our feet crack
Threatening to shatter
You push
Teasing the outer limits
I lunge
Plunging into the cold water
Hitting thick ice on the way down
You walk away
Forgetting
Spring
His life has ended
Both are to blame
Hate is all we know now
Rougher bruises and slit wrists
I hate yous every morning
Summer love ended in spring...
