Fakers

Fakers

A Story by Franky
"

All of us have run across fakes. They lie. They aren't real. They hide behind their device. They are not who they say. It's frustrating. They play with our emotions. But, are there real ones?

"

I don't like to be played    I don't like fakes

They have dark motives.     They want something

Their presentation is fake      They want your attention

They ask the usual things       they won't answer you

It's about  what THEY want     It's not about YOU

They deflect            They play with you

You become guarded    You try to be careful.

They have tendencies      They are predictable

They're all the same      I know it when it happens now

It's right around the corner.    Then comes the pain The hurt

but, then

you find one    A REAL one One who can pass your test

One who is genuine      One who cares One who is real

You don't want to trust    But you see honesty You see good

You fear them    You measure their words

You want to see more   You don't want to push   You fear being hurt.

Could this be real?  Or is it like the others?

Online scams     Fakers Hiding behind a device

They are tough and confident from miles away

Courage can come from hiding with a fake name or blocking others

You want to feel   You want to trust You want hope

Then you see her    She is different She has to be    She has a heart She is unique She is genuine    You don't want to screw up

This needs to work    But can it? Can she be a friend?   Will this last? Will I ruin it? Will she pull away?

She is beautiful too    But mostly, she is real

Or, is she?

A fault of mine that I've never outgrown is that of taking people at their word. Until they give me a reason not to trust them, I believe they are earnest. As you might guess, I've been burned a few times.
And in the realm of romance, I really, really want any possible relation to be much better than they appear. "They'll come around. I can fix those faults of theirs." Yeah, romance is a minefield, eager to blow a man's legs off.
So yes, I can definitely relate. If I was young again and in the market, I'd only hope to think these words you've written. Elvis was right... "only fools rush in". Great and thoughtful writing, Franky.

Yes you are talking about...and mostly any another social media, it's really hard to identify who is real but becomes easier when you observe...

Thank you for reading and commenting. And welcome aboard!
Nicely done and so very true. The ying and yang of my own personality, giving to much and getting kicked in the teeth in return.

Unfortunately, Frankie, you are correct....the fakes are everywhere online and also in our reality, too. We all have a predesigned desire for self preservation; no one wants to reach out with an honest heart and be exposed to the treachery of another. I guess its better to just be friendly but also cautious until we have all the right information about a person in our orbit. Only then can we extend a branch of solid friendship. This is a very relevant theme, dear Frankie and an important one for this online forum as well. I enjoyed the thoughts in this one. :))

Online is the new way to play lets pretend, so anonymous and so very difficult to sift the wheat from the chaff.

Deceit and fakery of course, has been part of the makeup of certain types long before the internet was spawned and will unfortunately continue to be so. I don't have the answer, don't really know how to guard against such people; and so I identify 100% with your sentiment; though I would add, that the cafe, thus far, has been a good place to be.

Beccy.

This story strikes me as the real picture of life out there. Fakers abound in the world. Sadly perhaps, they now outnumber the genuine guys. Believe at your own risk. Invest as little as you can. Well stated.

It’s wonderful reading you ❤️
The world is at your doorstep but will you let them in.
It's a crazy time out there and you're invited to the party.
The sad fact of life now is no one is to be trusted, even the humble policeman is included in this.
If the deal sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. Though if you send me your bank details I will naturally disprove this. lol

Thank you Paul for reading and reviewing. I agree with what you are saying about Trust.
This is really interesting. I must say it’s difficult to sometimes spot a fake. That’s what makes it so intriguing. It’s like a ballroom with everyone behind masks.

And thanks for taking the time!
At the beginning it sounds like you're describing a narcissist and I had the impression that this was about a controlling, manipulative partner. What I really like was how the 'they' swaps from the singular to the plural - which is so clever but also really sad. That we're no longer discussing one individual but people in general - which you confirm with ' I know when it happens now' - something people can too often become used to.

So I enjoyed the cyber - twist! An the end note of hope mixed in with doubt.

So true are your words and sadly there’s a lot out there...I don’t have answers but they must feel worthless and not accept themselves in the quest to pretend to be someone else...sadly it affect the innocent and breaks trust...it’s a fake world...sad but there is still good we need to find it...rebuilding trust takes time...but yes I understand and wish I knew y humans do the things they do ...lies bring nothing but bad vibes and ruin one in the end...choices I guess...we live we learn ...life goes on as long as we know we are honest true and real 🌹
