Lovely Little Dove

Lovely Little Dove

A Poem by Immortal

If I was to say life was worthless,
would anyone care?
Without your love, there to tangled in your hair.
There to make you laugh and cry and smile,
and to forget about your problems, even for a little while.
No, they say, won't you listen?
There's more to life than this one woman.
There's someone out there who fits you like a glove,
so why don't you forget about your lovely little dove.
Alas! I reply with a tear in my eye,
without my little dove, I cannot fly.
I need her, I say, I need her by me,
She needs to be held, and loved, and kissed, you see.
But there are others who need that love,
others who can be your lovely little dove.
They would kiss and hug without question,
and even they would hold hold epic colouring sessions.
I dont want another, you naiive fool.
Because no other would color in a pool.
No other would do what she does,
My beautiful, lovely, amazing little dove.
But this is less about colouring and more about love.
So, if you see, you'll know that you're more than my little dove.

Beautifully elegant and sweet, simply flowing from one line to the next, flowing together and connecting strong lines of love and devotion. Words hold strong to reflect the strength of emotion, enjoyed reading it.

i like the fact it rhymed and it fit together smoothly. Great word choice. It seems almost like a song? I liked it. Thanks for sharing.
